Free Comic Hosting at Comic Fury!

So I just heard about this website called Comicfury.com and they will host your comics for free!

fooor freeeeee?
No ads and no other bullshit twist. They even help you customize your website however you want it. They've already pre-built codes that your webcomic might need. All you have to do is actually do the comics. The only hassle you'll have is going through your webcomic's design interface.

Just comic ain't enough, you have to make the whole package pretty!
There are tons of inspiration and templates at comicfury. What's even better is they also got a community! You'll not only earn a free page for your webcomic, you'll also earn friends and readers! I can't believe this myself at first but it's there! Waiting for you, the unknown, the aspiring comic artist.

As for me, I hope to kickstart my comicking career mid next year. That's all for now :)

Papa's Funeral

For those who doesn't know; papa passed away due to his 3rd heart attack, two weeks after his second. He now lies at Sanctuario de Carmona. The family is coping quite well. We're just thankful he didn't suffer any deformations after his attacks, and now is relieved of all his pains. The family knows papa will not leave us unprepared for the challenges ahead of us.

Papa, you did well. As far as we know, your mission has been accomplished.

I made this sketch the night Papa requested me to make him a cartoon-selfie. I never finished, I thought it could be better. I'll settle with late than never.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone. Friends, Family, and Colleagues who sent their deepest condolences, warm regards, moral & financial support. I do not know how we could have made it without all of you. Papa was our first death in the family and we know not one thing about funerals.

Again, thank you very much. As the oldest son in my family, I'll do my best to take charge from here on.

I am now quite rested and ready to work again. I miss papa for sure; but not as much as the following days, months, years, birthdays, anniversaries, and other events to come.

"If the sun were to explode, you wouldn't even know about it for 8 minutes because that's how long it takes for light to travel to us. For eight minutes the world would still be bright and it would still feel warm." - Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

My 8 minutes of papa starts now.

Random Drawing

Random drawing of me drawing random stuff

I miss posting digital art stuff. I usually post in my dA account but I just feel like drawing nonsensical things then posting 'em for friends to see. Which I think this blog is all about.

Prophet: Remission Review

I always tell myself that I'm a frustrated comic artist, and that's true for two reasons: For one, I'm having a hard time pursuing my dream job as a professional comic artist; and two, I don't read enough comics to know my way around the industry. Reading not enough comics' a really big problem! Fortunately, Tobie (a really good friend and a colleague of mine) introduced me to some comic titles.

One of which is, Prophet: Remission.
First impression
This is the second time Tobie approached me with a comic book at hand and said, "I'd like to share my influences." Or at least that's how I remember it. He gave me a trivia or two about the original Prophet comic series (which I honestly have no clue of) and said I should give the comics a try then left. I was really busy that time, so it took a while before I actually read it.

I started reading the comic book after a friend picked it up from my table asking, "What's this about?" then read on with it. He kept saying, "Maco, this comic is gross" for some time before leaving it back to where he picked it up. My curiosity grew and I was not disappointed.

Comic Summary:
On distant future Earth, changed by time and alien influence, John Prophet awakes from cryosleep. His mission: to climb the the towers of Thauili Van and restart the Earth empire. News of the Empire's return brings old foes and allies out of the recesses of the vast cosmos.

Why I liked Prophet: Remission

The Hero Approach to John Prophet
My first impression of John Prophet was, "Caveman as man of the future?" Then I was like, "Why not?" From the hero's facial features, to the posture, and to the way he hunts for food is very caveman-isque. He's like, HEY, THERE'S MEAT! *nom* *nom* And you know that he's meant to survive harsh environment set-up. I also found myself looking forward on how John Prophet will deal with situations. Will he end it with a super punch like they always do? Nope. Will Prophet get out of trouble with just scratches and a few ripped out clothing? Nope. Does Prophet get a steaming hot leading lady for some sexy time? N-

Interconnected Stories of Prophets
The comic book contained chapters of short stories related to a single plot. Sooner or later, all stories will connect to one big reveal and I can't wait for that time. There's no other villainous character to be seen around to challenge John every now and then except maybe John Prophet himself. I was actually sad after I was done reading the comics because my experience with John Prophet was over. I even went out of my way limiting my comic reading to 1 chapter a day. Oh man, I want more.

A New Take of the Future Setting
Or at least to me... Future settings I have seen from every other comics or movies were, humans are still on top of the food chain, or maybe competing to get on top. Here in Prophet: Remission, I had the impression that John Prophet's the last man in the whole universe. The comic would always promise that the Earth Empire will rise through John Prophet but I think all human beings are dead. Aliens eat whatever human they can scavenge and they're everywhere with their civilization and weaponry.

All in all, this comic inspired me to be bold. John Prophet (the reboot) is not like every other heroes with their iron skins and power punches. I felt like I can relate more to a hero if they bleed and feels pain as how I would take it if I were in their place. Now I want to make my own DC/Marvel-isque hero. *BLOG IDEA*

The Robinxano Blog

Welcome to The Robinxano Blog; I am Maco.

A good ol' probinsyano at heart, a swashbuckling artisan at work, and a frustrated comic artist at my spare time. I felt like I must pour my creative frustration somewhere before it burst into an artist block explosion of doom and despair! And that's why, my dear friends, I've decided to revive this old blog page. (It's still far from being pretty but whatever I just want to blog)

You'll hear creative thoughts from me; maybe an idea of a character, cheesy jokes, comic strips, and other art professional life updates. I work as a Game Artisan, the bringer of gaming experience as they call me. I would like to share you guys some of my work related experience, but I'd rather blog them on our radical website found here: http://www.indigo-entertainment.com/

I also have a deviantart account you can visit, macollado17.deviantart.com! Go there and give me some love! Maybe drop me a message or give a llama. Whatever! I draw random stuff there that you might like, so watch me maybe?

Amma start blogging here whenever I don't blog anywhere. Peace out~
